நற்றிணை 324, கயமனார், குறிஞ்சித் திணை அல்லது பாலைத் திணை – தலைவன் தோழனிடம் சொன்னது, அல்லது தலைவியை வழியில் கண்டோர் சொன்னது
அந்தோ தானே அளியள் தாயே
நொந்து அழி அவலமொடு என் ஆகுவள் கொல்
பொன் போல் மேனித் தன் மகள் நயந்தோள்
கோடு முற்று யானை காடுடன் நிறைதர
நெய் பட்டன்ன நோன் காழ் எஃகின்
செல்வத் தந்தை இடனுடை வரைப்பின்
ஆடு பந்து உருட்டுநள் போல ஓடி
அம் சில் ஓதி இவள் உறும்
பஞ்சி மெல் அடி நடை பயிற்றும்மே.

Natrinai 324, Kayamanār, Kurinji Thinai or Pālai Thinai – What the hero said to his friend, or what those who saw the heroine on the path said
Her pitiable mother who bears this pain
and grief!  What will happen to her?
Her beloved daughter, her body like gold,
has gone to the jungle where elephants
have mature tusks.

She is playing like she is rolling her ball
in the large house of her wealthy father
with a spear that shines like it has been
rubbed with oil.  The young woman with
fine and beautiful hair walks on delicate
feet that are very much like cotton.

Notes:  ஒளவை துரைசாமி உரை – இஃது இடைச் சுரத்து கண்டோர் சொல்லியது.  பின்னத்தூர் அ. நாராயணசாமி ஐயர் உரை – தலைமகன் பாங்கற்குச் சொல்லியது, இடைச்சுரத்துக் கண்டோர் சொல்லியதூஉமாம்.  In poems Natrinai 12, 305, 324 and Kurunthokai 396, which were all written by Kayamanār, there are references to a ball played by the heroine.

Meanings:  அந்தோ – aiyo, alas, தானே அளியள் – she is pitiable, தாயே – her mother (ஏ – அசைநிலை, an expletive), நொந்து அழி அவலமொடு – grieving and deeply distressed, என் ஆகுவள் கொல் – how will she handle it (கொல் – ஐயப்பொருட்டு வந்த இடைச்சொல், a particle implying doubt), பொன் போல் மேனி – body like gold, தன் மகள் நயந்தோள் – the woman who desires her daughter, the woman who pines for her daughter, கோடு – tusks, முற்று – mature (big), யானை காடுடன் நிறைதர – in the elephant-filled forest, நெய் பட்டன்ன – like rubbed with oil/ghee, நோன் – strong, காழ் எஃகின் – with a spear, bearing a spear, செல்வத் தந்தை – rich father, இடனுடை வரைப்பின் – in the large house, ஆடு – playing, பந்து உருட்டுநள் போல – as if she were rolling a ball, ஓடி – running, அம் சில் ஓதி இவள் – she with beautiful fine hair, உறும் பஞ்சி மெல் அடி நடை பயிற்றும்மே – she walks on her delicate feet that are very much like cotton (உறும் – மிக்க, பயிற்றும்மே – செய்யுளோசை நோக்கி மகர ஒற்று விரிந்தது)

செஞ்சொல் ஆளர் நீடு நாங்கைத் தேவ தேவன் என்று ஓதி
பஞ்சி யன்ன மெல்லடியாள் பார்த்தன் பள்ளி பாடுவாளே.

கஞ்சன் தன்னால் புணர்க்கப்பட்ட கள்ளச் சகடு கலக்கு அழிய
பஞ்சி அன்ன மெல்லடியால் பாய்ந்த போது நொந்திடும் என்று
அஞ்சினேன் காண் அமரர் கோவே ஆயர் கூட்டத்து அளவன்றாலோ
கஞ்சனை உன் வஞ்சனையால் வலைப்படுத்தாய் முலை உணாயே.
